Dr.Malpani’s Blog:Patient complaints about doctor that they are over busy.

Do doctors really want to appear busy or are they really overworked ? There are a number of patients who suspect that some doctors make them wait just for the heck of it. They complaint that doctor are over busy. Well, that’s one way of looking at it! In actuality and from personal experience I must say that good doctors are very much in demand, and can be overloaded by patients clamoring for their personal attention -  after all , who in their right minds would want to go to a doctor who has a bad reputation!

Of course there may be some doctors who just want to appear to be busy, to impress their patients - after all doctors are also human, and as they say , “to each his own!”   While pretending to be busy may help their reputation, if you only a few patients, then what’s the point of chasing that patient away by making him wait needlessly ?

From personal experience , I must say that good doctors usually become very busy quickly - and if a doctor is good , it’s quite possible that there are a lot of patients who share that opinion. It really doesn’t matter if a doctor has a lot of people waiting for him or not, if he is really competent , patients will line up to see him. However, well organized, efficient doctors will take the time and trouble to organize their practice, to ensure their patients don’t have to wait too long !
